Hi, Ramona! Definitely, beach coverups, if not too sheer or skimpy, also make great skirts for going out or as a shawl for dinner. I love wearing mine over a tank with jeweled flat sandals for an easy-breezy casual look. – Renae

Hi, Wander Girl! Thanks for visiting the blog. I assume you mean 18 degrees Celsius. Yeah, absolutely bring your furry boots. Hong Kong is fraught with the most fashionable modern looks on the streets, so it’s a fun city to wear something that you’ve been dying to wear but maybe didn’t have the courage to wear back home. Plus, you’re on vacay, so have fun with your wardrobe. Clothing-wise, bring one good, lined, coat (like a pea coat or stylish anorak) that you can dress up or down. One should be enough. Otherwise, bring your fave jeans, a couple layerable sweaters, a few tees to go underneath or to wear alone with a cool necklace, a pair of flats (you’ll be doing some good walking, I imagine), and a hat to keep those ears warm (floppy berets in a cool texture or with a smathering of sequins is a great look now). Have fun and let us know how your wardrobe turned out! – Renae

Thanks for the comment! The best shopping is going to be more boutique-y, though you can find some small markets around Christiansted and Frederiksted. You will find the most selection at Pan Am Pavilion and Caravelle Arcade, off Strand Street, and along King and Company streets. And don’t forget – most stores are closed on Sundays! Have fun!
