What to wear: Apres ski

Apres ski can be defined two ways, depending on who you’re talking to.  There’s the outfit that you put together right after your last run of the day on the slopes, and there’s the outfit that you wear any other time of the day while on a ski vacation.  Most of the time it’s a blurry line between the two as one of the first things you’ll want to do is chill (excuse the pun) out and enjoy the last rays of sun with a beer or head straight to dinner.  Thankfully, most ski apparel retailers have just the right balance of ski / street wear to make the transition easy.

I love the freedom that winter sports gives you to brave the cold and get active! I remember my first snowboarding trip and how much fun I had picking out the perfect outfit. Being the city girl I am, I had to have the city-slicker tweed print jacket. So after a brief hiatus from my running schedule, I finally decided to bite the bullet and brave the chilly weather to get back that runner’s high I so covet (and need).  First concern: stay warm.  Second: stay mobile.  And I can’t help thinking that my improvement in stride and pace might have a little bit to do with how good I feel in a stylish running ensemble.  :-)   Below is everything you need to make sure you have a good run…and look good doing it.

Baseball season is in “full swing,” so make sure you look like your fashionable self as opposed to one of the boys.  You CAN stylishly show off your spirit!

Keep in mind that you will be going up and down stairs so flats, street sneakers or sandals / flip-flops are a great option.  If you want to add a little more heat to your kicks, try a wedge sandal.  The completely flat surface will help you keep your balance but still look good in those shorts or skirts!
