Home to the Alamo, the Riverwalk, and the South’s answer to the Space Needle (as we discovered on a recent trip), San Antonio is pure Texas, right down to its cowboy boots. Even as it is almost November, the weather is a very warm 85 degrees this year. So what’s one thing you can wear that will never fail despite the temperature? Cowboy boots. When I asked one savvy dresser why she decided to wear cowboy boots she had this to say: “It was the only place I felt comfortable breaking out my boots in this kind of heat!”
San Antonio Style
San Antonio is decidedly more casual than its larger Texas counterparts. The Hispanic influence in the town and easygoing nature of the locals makes it a great vacation spot and an easy place to pack for. Anything goes as long as your comfortable. That’s why cowboy boots are such a great option – they fit the local culture and are a great accessory any time of year or for most occasions.

So boots are no exception it seems. They speak to the local culture instantly and make a sundress or pair of denim shorts just a little more interesting.
Don’t be fooled, however. Depending on where you go at night, San Antonians love the nightlife, too, and look forward to getting gussied up at the number of posh bars and lounges popping up around the downtown area. Boots will work there, too, if you show a little more flair in a more tailored and sassy dress or jeans and blouse combo.
What to Wear with Cowboy Boots
If you’re just trying out cowboy boots for the first time, tuck your skinny jeans into them and wear with a light jacket. Leggings are also a fabulously simple look with boots. Add a fun tunic or long cardigan for good coverage and balance.
You can get more creative just by substituting your normal city boots in your favorite outfits. For a mod look, for example, pair boots with a trapeze or a-line dress. Or try tights and a denim skirt with a chunky sweater for a cozy California look.
The best go-with-it-all, any-season colors are cognacs, tans and beiges.
San Antonio Weather
Fall is a great time to visit San Antonio. Temps hover around the 70s with an occasional high of 85 or 90 degrees F. October through December usually sees a dramatic drop through the 60s to the mid-50s with the most rainfall occurring soon after in January (almost 8 inches).
