You know that outfit that you would finally wear in your closet if only you had the perfect pair of shoes to wear with them? And something besides silver or gold? Well, nine times out of ten, it will go with a fabulous pair of nude shoes! A reliable pair of nude shoes that can go from day to night should be in every travelista’s wardrobe. They look great with those hard-to-pair colors like pastels and navy and bring a bit of sophisticated drama to basics like black, brown, and red.
I recently purchased my THIRD pair (I know) of nude shoes in a new design and heel shape because I can’t live without them! They have become a travel basic that will work for pretty much any outfit and any occasion. On one particular trip for one of the many weddings I am attending this year, I was able to wear it with a casual white pants and tank outfit then took them out to the rehearsal dinner with a silky shirtdress and then out that night with shorts and a blouson top. It was like having three pairs of shoes in one – no more “heavy” tags for this girl!
When picking your first pair of nude shoes, a semi-rounded toe is a safe bet to wear as easily to work as you can to brunch. If you can find one with a little more detail, like a cute ruffle, a funky heel, or a chic platform, it will make any outfit that much more interesting. Choose a color that is close to your skintone to elongate your legs and to draw more attention to what’s on top.
